School Activity - Snorkelling
Instructor Qualification: Experience in snorkelling and / or water sports coaching award with in-house training.
Venue: Eastern section of beach at Orcombe Point
Group Size: Max 10
Duration: 25 mins on the water
Stop Decision: Too much wind, dumping surf, off shore breeze, too cold, any other good reason.
Activity Outline:
The Instructor will meet the group and ensure they are suitably kitted out with wetsuits, buoyancy aids and footwear. A brief introduction will be given on how to correctly use the mask and snorkel.
Students will then be designated an area in which they must stay. The Instructor will demonstrate how to use the mask and snorkel in the water. Students will learn by trying for themselves under the supervision of the Instructor.
They will be encouraged to identify what they see under the water.
At the end of the session the students will rinse the equipment and place in the container provided.
