School Activity - Windsurfing
Instructor Qualification: RYA Level 1 or Assistant, with in-house training.
Venue: Central section of Beach at Orcombe Point

Duration: 25 mins
Stop Decision: Too much wind, dumping surf, off shore breeze, too cold, any other good reason.
Activity Outline:
The Instructor will meet the group and ensure that they are suitably kitted out with buoyancy aids, wetsuits and footwear. A brief introduction will be given.
Students will then be designated an area in which they must stay. The Instructor will introduce the board and where appropriate the rig. Students will be under the supervision of the Instructor. They will be encouraged to explore balance on the boards and feel the wind in the rig if appropriate.
Stable modern boards are used to assist learners. Students will fall off when imbalanced. In the event of a student falling in the Instructor will either instruct them to swim/wade ashore or will reinstate them on the windsurfer.
At the end of the session the students will stack the equipment on the beach.
